Oral Health
St Marks Preschool provides care for children and promotes health through promoting oral health and hygiene and encouraging healthy eating. Within our registration forms we ask if each child is currently registered with a local dentist. If a parent indicates they are not we advise the parent to do so ASAP and send home a link to the NHS website ‘Find a dentist.’ We provide a brush pack when a child completes their first settling in session with us which includes a toothbrush, toothpaste and leaflet with relevant information and advice for parents in. We send home new brush packs to every child every 3 months – which is the recommended time frame to change brushes according to dentists. A message is also sent home every 3 months to encourage parents/ carers to consider when their child last attended the dentist and if it is time to book a check-up!
