          Promoting Positive Behaviour

During the Pre-School session, the children must be given the chance of appropriate play and learning opportunities, Sensitivity should be demonstrated constantly. The child’s physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs are of paramount importance.   Staff should always try and anticipate potential problems and support children in a positive manner. Staff must not shout at children or use practices that humiliate them. Adults in the setting will always promote positive behaviour. We use strategies such as our ‘Conker jar’ to promote team work and positive behaviour. Children get to add a conker to the jar when they show good teamwork and positive behaviour and when the jar is full the entire class gets a treat! The children have also created their own ‘Golden Rules!’
