                Outdoor Procedure

We believe that outdoor play is as important as indoor play. Space, fresh air, freedom and time are essential for children’s emotional, social and personal well-being. Outdoor play is vital because it enables children to become independent learners. Our outdoor area reflects the areas of provision we have indoors, to allow children to continue and extend their play and learning. The teaching that takes place indoors is mirrored outdoors. We use the outdoor environment as a context and a natural resource for learning. We believe that there is no such thing as inappropriate weather to play out in – just inappropriate clothing so we ask that all children bring weather appropriate clothing into preschool. This includes waterproof clothing and wellies for those rainy days, hats scarves and gloves for the colder days and sun cream and sun hats for those sunny days!
