Prevent Duty

At St Marks Preschool, we take our Prevent Duty responsibilities seriously as part of our wider safeguarding practice. All staff receive appropriate training to help them

recognise when a child or family may be vulnerable to extremist influences or radicalisation and understand how to report any concerns through our safeguarding procedures. We help children develop confidence, respect and resilience by providing a safe environment where they learn to value themselves and others. Fundamental British Values are promoted naturally throughout everyday preschool life, including democracy and having a voice, understanding rules and why they are important, individual liberty and making appropriate choices, and mutual respect and tolerance of different cultures, beliefs, backgrounds and ways of life.
