Intergenerational Visits!

This week we had the absolute pleasure of visiting the lovely residents at Age UK for one of our intergenerational visits!We were so excited for our first visit of the new preschool year, and it was wonderful to see some familiar faces as well as meeting lots of lovely new ones!

Intergenerational experiences are such an important and special part of what we offer at St Marks Preschool. Bringing different generations together provides so many wonderful benefits for both our children and the older people we spend time with.For our children, these visits help to build confidence, communication and social skills, while encouraging kindness, empathy, patience and respect for others. They give children opportunities to talk, listen, share experiences and form relationships with people of different ages – helping them to understand more about the wider community around them. 🌎✨And, of course, the benefits go both ways! Spending time together can bring so much joy, companionship, laughter and a real sense of connection. We absolutely love watching mo friendships begin to form between the generations.
