Democracy Day!

Today we have been celebrating Democracy day in preschool!

Every day in preschool, we encourage the children to share their ideas, make choices, listen to others and understand that everybody’s voice matters. Today, we made this even more visible by introducing voting into different parts of our routine!The children voted for which story we should read at story time, using different voting techniques and counting the votes together.We also voted for which activities we would take part in during Group Time!It has been a lovely way to help the children understand making choices, listening to others, respecting different opinions, taking turns and accepting that sometimes our own choice might not win! Lots of fun, lots of learning and lots of brilliant little voters!
